MONROE, LA. (KNOE 8 News) - State legislators from all over, even as far as Lake Charles and Alexandria, will meet at Louisiana Delta Community College Thursday morning to discuss state budget changes.
The discussion is organized by District 14 Representative Jay Morris and includes the leadership of the political action committee called the Budget Reform Campaign.
Starting at 11:30 a.m., legislators will discuss what needs to be done about the state budget to prevent more mid-year state budget cuts.
Morris said they also want more transparency and better prioritization of funds.
"Increase transparency so that the information on which legislators base their decision is more available," Morris said. "Number two, we need to improve the revenue estimating that we do because we're short every year."
We have a crew at the meeting and will bring you a full report later on KNOE 8 News.
