RUSTON, La., (KNOE 8 News) – Louisiana Tech Professor of Art Marie Bukowski been selected to have her print work included in the PRINTWORK 2012 exhibition at Artists Image Resource in Pittsburgh, Penn.

Bukowski was one of 22 artists chosen from more than 150 entries, designed to showcase the best of contemporary printmaking in the United States.  She will attend the opening reception Friday, Dec. 7.

"I submitted four prints from my ‘Interstices' series created in 2011 based on scientific phenomena through collaboration with the Institute for Micromanufacturing," Bukowski said. "All four prints submitted were selected for the exhibition."

She added that she was thrilled to find out that her work was selected, since Nicholas Chambers, the new Milton Fine Curator of Art at The Andy Warhol Museum, served as juror for the show.

"Juried exhibitions are significant in an artist's career because these are peer reviewed," Bukowski said. "A small percentage of artists are selected from a very large submission.  The juror only selects a small representative of what he or she is looking for to represent the show -- in this case, diverse, compelling, varied techniques in contemporary printmaking."

The exhibition will run from Friday, Dec. 7 through Thursday, Jan. 31.
