Bowl fever keeps ULM ticket office busy

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - ULM hasn't even received their order of Independence Bowl tickets yet and scores of tickets are already being reserved. The activity is keeping employees very busy as people and phone calls have flooded the ticket office.

ULM asst. Athletic Director Adam Johnson says the Independence bowl ticket line started forming Sunday at 10 in the morning and by the time doors opened at one in the afternoon, the line went out the door. "Obviously we're excited by the response we've been shown. We want to take a huge crowd to Shreveport," said Johnson and on Monday the momentum hasn't slowed.

Phones are ringing off the hook at the ULM ticket office and a steady trickle of people have come through the door.

"Just fill this reservation sheet out," employees said to countless people because the school hasn't gotten hard tickets from the Independence Bowl yet. So in the meantime, employees are hard at work reserving seats.

Johnson encourages everyone to go through the university for tickets. "We will have the best available seats coming through us, that is you are directly supporting the Warhawks, keeping your money here at home by buying from us and we're also going to give away a neat commemorative item with each order"

Ticket prices range from 37 to 47 dollars and can be reserved at the ticket office or by calling 318-342-3856 or click here to fill out a reservation form The game is December 28th at 1pm at Independence Stadium in Shreveport.
