MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Band from New Orleans is returning to Monroe for their 8th annual Toys for Tots Christmas concert. The event will take place at Neville High School on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.
The holiday concert is free and open to the public. However, the donation of a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots is appreciated. Last year, during their stop in Monroe the Marine Corps Band New Orleans raised nearly 1,000 toys for the charity.
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Bryan Sherlock, Director of the Marine Corps Band New Orleans hopes there will be a big crowd for the band this year and lots of donations for Toys for Tots.
The Marine Corps Band New Orleans was established on October 1, 1978 and is comprised of 51 fully trained active duty Marines. Each year musicians from the band travel throughout the United States, performing more than 250 concerts, parades and ceremonies providing entertainment to over six million people.
