UPDATE: Arrest made in Rayville armed robbery

RAYVILLE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - There has now been an arrest in an armed robbery at a Rayville home over the weekend.

According to the Richland Sheriff's Office, the victim is an Assistant Manager at the Rayville Wal Mart. He'd left work and upon arrival at his residence, he was assaulted by three (3) armed black males. The suspects hid their identities by wearing masks. Victim was forced into his residence and the suspects demanded the Wal Mart keys and safe combination.

Victim was struck in the face with a firearm and suffered moderate injuries. Deputies said that the suspects also stole a shotgun from the house, and took the victim's 2005 Chevrolet Silverado.

Then, Sunday, at approximately 3:50am, Deputies recovered the 2005 Chevrolet and the shotgun. The vehicle was recovered within a few miles of the crime scene.

One suspect, 24-year-old Nykeshun G. Nealon of Rayville, was subsequently arrested and charged with Armed Robbery and Theft (Vehicle).

The investigation is continuing and the other suspects are being sought; anyone having in information about this crime is asked to contact Richland Parish Sheriff's Department at (318)728-2071

ORIGINAL STORY:

A Rayville man is recovering after being knocked out and robbed at gunpoint Saturday night.

Around 11 p.m. Saturday, 3 armed black males wearing masks forced Joshua Bray into his home. The suspects demanded the keys and safe combination to the Rayville Wal-mart where Bray works as an assistant manager.

Bray was struck in face with a firearm and suffered moderate injuries. Upon leaving, the suspects stole Bray's truck and a shotgun from the home.

Sunday morning, deputies arrested Nykeshun G. Nealon, 24, of Rayville for armed robbery and theft. Police continue to search for the two other suspects involved.

Just before 4 p.m. Sunday, deputies recovered the gun and vehicle a few miles from Bray's home.

Wal-mart's response to the incident:

We are obviously concerned anytime an act of violence is committed against one of our associates. We are grateful that the injuries were not more serious and we're keeping him close in our thoughts, praying for a quick recovery.

We appreciate the responsiveness of the police, both in how they responded to the crime and their assistance in helping us take additional steps to better secure our store, in light of what happened.
