UPDATE: Second Arrest is made in Bastrop murder

BASTROP, La. (KNOE 8 News)- A second arrest has now been made in the murder of Billy Wayne McCready of Bastrop. The murder occurred last Thursday night in McCready's home in Bastrop.

52-year-old Samuel Dale Turner was arrested not long after McCready was murdered, and charged with first degree murder. He was arraigned earlier this week.

Today, police announced that 34-year-old Cindy Owens, who lives at 1309 Summerlin Lane in Bastrop has also been arrested in the murder. Owens is being charged with First Degree Murder as well in connection with the crime and was booked into the Morehouse Detention Center where she is being held without bond.

Sheriff Mike Tubbs of Morehouse Parish, tells KNOE 8 News that additional evidence related to the robbery and murder was recovered on Monday of this week during a search of a Ouachita Parish landfill.

Police say that robbery is believed to have been the motive for the murder.

The victim, Billy Wayne McCready, was buried today in Bastrop.

Morehouse police have made an arrest in the murder of Billy Wayne Mccready.  52 year old Samuel Dale Turner of Bastrop has been charged with first degree murder.

Sheriff Mike Tubbs tells KNOE they have reason to believe robbery was the motive in the killing because money was taken from the residence at the time of the homicide. Mccready was found dead in his home early Friday morning.

Turner will be arraigned early next week.
