BAWCOMVILLE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Hundreds took to the streets in Bawcomville for the 6th Annual Redneck Christmas Parade.
Unusual characters with even stranger decorations rode through the town this morning. Leading the parade was the Grand Marshall, Mountain Man, of the hit television show Duck Dynasty based in West Monroe.
The parade is hosted each year by S & J Farm and Feed, and features big trucks, fan boats, and this year, some people are throwing turnips from their farm instead of candy.
Cody Warner calls himself "Miss Bawcomville 2012" and is complete with a tiara that he says matches is sparkling personality. Warner says being a "redneck" is nothing to be ashamed about. He takes pride in his community and comes to the parade each year to have a good time and let loose.
To enter a float or vehicle in the parade, S & J charges a $10 fee or the donation of a new toy. The money and gifts are then distributed by the store to families in need throughout the community.
