NATCHITOCHES, La., (KNOE 8 News) - This is the weekend for the annual Natchitoches Christmas Festival.

And for this, the 86th annual festival, there's a new feature just for kids.

This year, there is the Christmas Kid Zone, which organizers say will be packed full of entertainment for children of all ages. The Tricentennial Park will have a Zip Line Extreme ride, a laser tag game, the Spider Jump ride and the Gyro Extreme spinning machine.

"We are excited about the new features for kids this year. Our goal is to make the Christmas Festival a family-friendly place, and we thought having these wonderful adventures downtown would be great for the children", said Phyllis Stroud, President of the Historic District Business Association.

The Christmas Kid Zone will be open on Friday, November 30th from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m., on Saturday, December 1st from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. and on Sunday, December 2nd from 10 a.m. - until.

The Christmas Kid Zone is located in the Tricentennial Park, better known as the Old City Park, across from Shipley Donuts off Second Street in downtown Natchitoches.
