Missing worker's body recovered in the Gulf

NEW ORLEANS, La., (KNOE 8 News) - One of the men missing in that platform fire in the Gulf on the 16th has now been recovered.

Lafourche Parish Coroner Dr. John King says the body of 28-year-old Jerome Malagapo was found near Grand Isle, La..

Malagapo had been working for Grand Isle Shipyard aboard a platform operated by Black Elk Energy about 20 miles south of Grand Isle.

King said Wednesday that the identification was made from dental records and more investigation is needed to determine cause of death.

The fire killed two other workers. Ellroy Corporal's body was found in the Gulf near the platform. Avelino Tajonera was critically burned and died at a hospital on Nov. 23.

Cause of the fire is under investigation. There is no ongoing oil spill at the site.
