BASTROP, La. (KNOE 8 News) - State Police have issued an additional update on the death of a pedestrian in Morehouse Parish on the 26th of this month.
On November 27, Troopers say they were contacted by 63-year-old Joe Fudge of Bastrop. Troopers determined that Fudge was traveling behind the Toyota Avalon in a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban. Fudge's vehicle was the second vehicle to strike the pedestrian. Fudge was not found at fault but was charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

Update: Louisiana State Police tell KNOE 8 News their investigation reveals another vehicle was involved in this fatal crash.
Troopers are asking the public for help in locating this second vehicle. It is be lived to be a Chevy SUV or passenger vehicle with damage to its front bumper and undercarriage.
Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 318-345-0000.

BASTROP, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A Bastrop man is dead after being hit by a car while walking along Highway 165 in Morehouse Parish Saturday night.
Just after 10 p.m. on November 24, 2012, Louisiana State Police responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Highway 165 south of Louisiana Highway 592.
A 2010 Toyota Avalon driven by 58-year-old Jessica Blackman of Bastrop was northbound on 165 when her vehicle struck a pedestrian standing in the left lane of the highway.
51-year-old Billy Smith of Bastrop, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Morehouse Parish Coroner's Office.
The driver was wearing a seat belt and did not report any injuries. Officers do not suspect any alcohol use and the crash remains under investigation.
