Black Friday Preps

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Boxes are piled high, stock is being put on shelves, and sale signs are being put up; all in anticipation of the Black Friday rush!

Human Resources Team Leader for Target, Cliff Hargrove says Thursday they just want to focus on the customers.

He says, "the only thing we are doing that night is making sure our guests are okay, and have process through the check lanes, and make sure they have the best experience possible."

Target is expecting a huge line as they have in past years, and Hargrove says they are doing everything they can to be accommodating.

He says, "it's basically going to wrap around the entire building so for those who will be waiting in line we will have porta potties set up, we have 4 porta potties set up, and have police officers here to make sure everything goes smoothly and there is no cutting in line and everything goes smoothly as possible."

Basic Your Best Buy Manager James Brantley says they are preparing too!

He says it's an important day for many families.

Brantley says, "the families are together the day before, so they just plan ahead and they all just get together and have a good time."

Hargrove says he has seen people in the past with plans mapped out, literally.

He says, "they'll be comparing ads with different ones, and basically they'll have a time sheet, from 9 pm until 6 am in the morning and they will have blocks of where they are going to go, what time, and what they will be getting."

Hargrove says the only advice he has for first timers for Black Friday.

He says, "bring 3 or 4 of your family, and have a game plan set up, and it'll go smooth."

Both men agree while it's very hectic, it's also a fun time for the employees to be together.

Some stores will be opening early Thursday night.

Walmart at 8 pm, Target at 9 pm and Best Buy at midnight.

Pecanland Mall will open Friday at 6:00 am.
