Magnolia airport gets state help

Posted: Updated:

MAGNOLIA, Ar.,  (KNOE 8 News) - Magnolia's airport has been struggling with lighting issues following a thunderstorm earlier this year.

During that storm, a lightning strike damaged lights along the runway as well as on the taxiway. Almost all the lights on the runway and the taxiway were knocked out.

To help with the repairs, including repairs to the airport's rotating beacon (the main light which rotates to help identify the airport), the Arkansas Dept. of Aeronautics has issued a $27,000 grant to the airport.

The storm occurred this past Spring.
