MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Organizations and people from both the University of Louisiana Monroe and the community gathered on campus Thursday to shine light on teen suicide.
Twenty-six organizations joined hands and released balloons at Bayou Park to remember those who found no help and took their own lives.
It was an event to showcase all of the different services and places where people can seek help for themselves and others. The groups say the only way to prevent suicide is to talk openly about it.
Campus organizations want the community to know their services are open to anyone, especially to those contemplating suicide and to those families affected by suicide.
