MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - 41 children in Northeast Louisiana need a permanent home, and there are more than 600 children across the state of Louisiana in need of a family.
November marks national adoption awareness month.
That's why the City of Monroe held "Answering the Call,"an adoption awareness celebration to address the critical need for adoptive families for children of all ages.
At the event, there was a display of children in Northeast Louisiana who need permanent homes.
The 2012 national adoption month theme is "Louisiana Families Taking Root."
