MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - A Bossier Parish woman has pleaded guilty to manslaughter for her part in the death of her West Monroe stepdaughter.

5-year-old Celeste Lowe died January 2, 2011, while in the care of her stepmother, Catherine Murray Lowe.   The Bossier Parish Coroner says Lowe died from blunt force trauma to her abdominal cavity.

Lowe was accused of not getting help after hurting the girl.  The child's father, 34-year-old Wesley Lowe, is still facing a negligent homicide charge.  He is scheduled for trial on December 18th, the same day Catherine Lowe will be sentenced.

Celeste Lowe's biological mother lives in West Monroe.
