MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Sentencing for former Ouachita Sheriff Royce Toney is scheduled for November 12th.

Federal charges against the former sheriff have been dropped in exchange for a guilty plea he entered this past August on lesser charges involving computer access.

Charges now are down to nine misdemeanors, which means Toney is likely looking at $100,000 in fines and supervised release for 12 months. He is also banned from working for any Louisiana law enforcement agency.
