Shots fired, one dies in West Monroe

WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The Ouachita Sheriff's Office is looking into a West Monroe shooting death. Deputies say it happened early Sunday morning, shortly before 3 o'clock on the 100 block of Old Arkansas Road.

28-year-old Sean Vines is behind bars after being accused of shooting 34-year-old Corey Todd.

The Sheriff's Office says the motive behind the murder may have been over a woman. According to deputies, Vines is dating Todd's ex-girlfriend. After speaking with witnesses, deputies say, the suspect armed himself while being approached by the victim. Law Enforcement say Vines shot the 34-year-old man multiple times and then threatened two other people nearby.

Sean Vines was arrested and charged with one count of 2nd Degree Murder and two counts of Aggravated Assault. He was booked into OCC.
