SHREVEPORT, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A woman is in the hospital after, witnesses say, being ejected from a ride at the State Fair of Louisiana.
Klarissa Graves, 20, suffers broken bones and internal injuries after she was thrown from a ride at the fair.
Witnesses say, on Saturday evening a woman on the "Fun Factory" ride fell out of her cart and flew through the air.
She was transported to the LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, and our affiliate KTBS reports that she remains in fair condition.
General Manager and President of the State Fair, Chris Giordano, says the passenger was secured by a lap bar when the ride started.
The State Fair does not own or operate the ride, but says it was accident-free.
"The ride, according to the owner of the ride, has been in operation for 11 years, without incident, and nothing like that has ever happened on the ride," says Giordano.
After the State Fair closes and packs up Sunday evening, the "Fun Factory" ride may remain on the fairgrounds for an investigation by the State Fire Marshall's Office.
