MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A Georgia facility is shifting some of its operations to Louisiana, bringing more jobs to the Bayou State. The Proctor and Gamble plant in Georgia will soon end its powdered detergent operations. The duty will be picked up in Pineville, in Rapides Parish. The move carries about 160 job losses in Georgia, but the Louisiana plant now gains about 50 positions. The Louisiana governor's office says each job is full-time with, on average, a yearly salary of about $61,000. The Pineville plant already makes liquid detergent.
