Monroe woman accused of animal cruelty

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A Monroe woman is facing three counts of animal cruelty, following an arrest at a home on Alabama Street.

34-year-old Nicole Sellers was arrested, after Monroe Police say they found three dogs at the home in terrible conditions.

Photos of the dogs that were provided by a viewer showed two badly malnourished dogs, one of which appeared to also be badly hurt.  One witness told police they saw at least one of the animals being beaten with boards and pipes.

Sellers faces two counts of cruelty to an animal, as well as one count of aggravated cruelty to an animal.

Police are still investigating.
