ULM's Veteran's Appreciation Ceremony

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Veteran's Day is only five days away, and some organizations are honoring their veterans early.

ULM held their Veteran's Appreciation Ceremony Wednesday morning, honoring all active and retired veterans who are current or past students or employees.

The guest speaker was the first ever female Brigadier General for the Louisiana National Guard, and she says it's a privilege to share her story with others.

General Sheridan says, "I've been approached by many, many women who are currently in the service and those who aren't and they tell me what an inspiration it is."

There was a moment of silence to honor those who died defending our freedom and those who are still currently serving overseas.
