Today is last chance to register for December

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Secretary of State Tom Schedler says that the deadline to register to vote in the December 8th Open General/Congressional Election is today, November 7th. This deadline is for citizens who have never registered to vote as well as voters who would like to make changes to their registration.

"We saw a turnout of approximately 67.2% of registered Louisiana voters for yesterday's Presidential Election which matches the record numbers of voters seen in 2008," said Secretary of State Tom Schedler.  "I am pleased that so many citizens made an effort to vote and hope that they will do the same next month."

Citizens can go to www.GeauxVote.com; at your parish's registrar of voters office; while obtaining services at the Office of Motor Vehicles, public assistance agencies, public schools, colleges and libraries; or by mail. Louisianians can also utilize our smartphone app, GeauxVote Mobile, to access registration, ballot and polling place information.
