MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News)-5th congressional district Congressman Rodney Alexander is back in office.
The congressman won by a vast majority, taking more than 200 thousand votes. Prior to the election, Alexander told KNOE winning the election was important, because he wants to make the world a better place for his six grandchildren.
We actually broke the news to the congressman in person last night and he told us he's honored to be given another term. "It's a great feeling, we've worked hard. My wife and I want to say thank you to all those who got out and voted today. It's been my pleasure to represent the best people in the world and the best state in the nation" said Alexander.
"A lot to do when we go back to Washington , but I'm delighted to be hired once again to fill the role of 5th congressional district" added the congressman.
Alexander started his congressional career in 2002.
