MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News)- District 3 may have a runoff, but both districts 2 and 4 have new city council representatives.
Gretchen Ezernack has reclaimed her seat on the council, while newcomer Kenneth Wilson has been elected for Monroe's 4th District.
Less than 8 percent separated Ezernack from her opponent Holly Dixon.
In district 4, Kenneth Wilson led the race by almost 44 percent.
Both candidates look forward to what's ahead.
Wilson says, "certainly looking forward to working with them, I know they share the same desires that I share to move district 4 forward."
Ezernack says, "well I think the biggest thing is we get to continue on our projects that we have. We've had a lot of success in our last several years on the council and we get to continue to do that."
Both candidates also send a special thanks to the voters and complimented the opposition on running a tough campaign.
