MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - President Obama gets four more years in office and local Democrats are more than happy about it. The Ouachita Democrats are celebrating the work of the party. Tears were shed at the Monroe headquarters as soon as the announcement of the incumbent president being re-elected. Party leaders say they too have worked hard in the Bayou State to get to people to turn out to the polls.
"For the last three months, we have so wanted this night to happen and we worked so hard here ion Ouachita Parish," Brenda Shelling said. "We have so many people who have helped in this campaign."
The local Democrats say their job is not over. Party leaders say they're still working to turn Ouachita Parish into a "blue" parish.
