MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - The trend of the past few weeks continued this past week, with the average price of a gallon of gas in Louisiana not at $3.30, dropping another 8¢. That puts us 24.9¢ a gallon lower than we were paying a month ago, but still 6.4¢ higher than a year ago.
Nationally, the price dropped 5.6¢ this past week, to $3.51 a gallon.
In looking at the trend and forecast, Gas Buddy Senior Petroleum said that it's good that despite the mess Hurricane Sandy caused in the Northeast, the national trend continued downward. He further predicted that "average prices will likely continue to decline, perhaps to $3.35/gal nationally by Thanksgiving. For those in Sandy's wake, fuel availability remains difficult."
The current trend would probably put the gas here at about the $3.14 a gallon or so.
