MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A West Monroe woman is in the hospital after a crash.
Louisiana State Police are looking in a single-vehicle wreck on Louisiana Highway 838, west of Louisiana Highway 3033.
They said it happened shortly before 1:00 P.M. Saturday.
Investigators said 60-year-old Barbara Carpenter was driving east on State Highway 838 when she then traveled off the road and into a drainage ditch where she struck a concrete culvert.
Police said Carpenter was taken to the hospital suffering serious injuries.
Alcohol use is not suspected but police will take a toxicology sample.
