Louisiana Tech to dedicate its new building

RUSTON, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Louisiana Tech University will dedicate its new College of Business building at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3.  Tech President Dan Reneau will be the master of ceremonies for the event which precedes a reception and open house until 1 p.m.  Other speakers on the program will be Wayne Parker, Tech alumnus and chairman of the University of Louisiana board of supervisors and James Lumpkin, dean of the School of Business.

Billy Jack Talton, professor emeritus and powerlifting coach at Louisiana Tech from 1974 to 2001, will be honored with the fitness room in the Maxie Lambright Intramural Sports Center being named after him at a ceremony at noon on Saturday, Nov. 3.  The event will take place in the complex's atrium.

During his tenure at Louisiana Tech, Talton led the men to 11 national championships and the women's team to 11 national championships, and coached athletes on the team who competed on an international scale, as well.
