Monroe food bank gives to Sandy victims

MONROE, LA. (KNOE 8 News) - The Northeast Louisiana Food Bank in Monroe is now pitching in to help the East Coast victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The Executive Director of the food bank, Richard King, confirmed to KNOE 8 News that, earlier this week, two truck loads carrying 33,605 Bottles of water, 11,890 Meals Ready to Eat (MRES) and 47,540 Snack items left for New York and should reach there in a few days.

King said the food bank is also on standby to provide more supplies if the need arises.
