NELA Red Cross helping Sandy storm victims

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Northeast Louisiana Red Cross volunteers are giving victims of Superstorm Sandy a helping hand. The team is heading to the New Jersey area, one of the hardest-hit places this week. They'll be handing out food from this truck for about 21-days. One volunteer is no stranger to assisting storm victims. He says typically seeing the damage brings him to tears.

"You just go out and hold it in and at the end of the day, when you get off by yourself, cry about it because it eats you up if you don't.Let it out and therefore you just have to stay prepared for it," Floyd Glenn said.

Volunteers from the Red Cross say there are still ways you can help out by donating a few dollars to the group.
