BATON ROUGE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Coca Cola this week marked Louisiana's 200th anniversary with a presentation of the first case of a limited edition 8 ounce Coca Cola bottle at the Old State Capitol.
On being presented with the bicentennial 6-pack, Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne said. "These commemorative glass bottles are another way to celebrate our 200th birthday and our rich history."
Senior PR Director Kel Villarrubia, in presenting the cokes to the Lt. Governor, noted that since "...one of the first Coca-Cola bottlers was from Louisiana, it is only appropriate that we honor this milestone in our state's history with commemorative bottles," he said.
The bottle design features the official logo of the Louisiana Bicentennial and will be available as long as supplies last. A very limited supply of these collectible bottles will be sold at retail outlets throughout the state over the next several weeks.
