MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News)- With only one day left of early voting, long lines met early voters in Monroe on Monday.

The lines wrapped through two rooms and packed the parking lot at the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum. The wait time to vote for much of the day was an hour and a half and the museum is expecting an even bigger crowd tomorrow. But museum director Nell Calloway says it's a good problem to have, "Well it's been crazy here Friday, Saturday and today and hopefully tomorrow" said Calloway. "I think it's a great thing to have and I've said all along, what a great place to have it, I mean we have people in the museum that have died for the right to vote" added the museum director.

A group of students from Carroll high school took a break from school to vote for the first time.  "I just turned 18 and I feel it's my duty to take my part in the election" said high schooler Monesha Jackson. "Everybody around us, the whole school and everybody, all the leaders and our role models are encouraging us to go out and vote" added Jackson.

Voter only have one more day to vote early. The polls are open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. In Monroe you can visit the registrar of voter's office or the Chennault Aviation Museum to cast your ballot.
