Flight cautions

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Airline passengers planning trips from the ArkLaMiss either to the East or Northeast during this week, may want to check regularly with their airlines.

Sandy's arrival in the New York / Washington area is already affecting travel in other parts of the country. As of last night, there were reports that many airlines had moved their aircraft out some major airports in the expected path of the storm.

A backup in Atlanta and any airport to the Northeast of us is almost a certainty at this point, since almost no flights will be going into the Northern part of the East Coast until well after Sandy's departure later in the week and there are likely to be no available connecting flights from Memphis, Atlanta and other connecting hubs to our North and East into that portion of the country.

The chosen airline will be the best source of information if you are planning air travel this week.
