MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Hundreds of kids dressed up in costumes for the Louisiana Purchase Zoo Halloween event.
Kids got some early trick-or-treating done Saturday at the Boo at the Zoo. Families put on their costumes and walked through the zoo.
Businesses set up tables throughout the complex to hand out candy and goody bags.
Classic costumes like witches and super heroes were the most popular, but some people showed a little more creativity.
One mom was walking around her two daughters - dressed as a rainbow and a pot of gold. She said doing something creative and different is simple. She glued on a bunch of coins to a plastic cauldron and cut the bottom out. The rainbow costume was crafted from cardboard and a little bit of fabric and glue.
