RUSTON, La., (KNOE 8 News) - The City of Ruston and the state DOTD are celebrating this week.
Wednesday, October 24 at 11 a.m. there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the completion of the U.S. 89 intersection improvement project.
The formal The announcement will take place on the west edge of Georgia Avenue at its intersection with Trenton Street. (See the attached map)
The U.S. 80 at La. 167 intersection improvement project widened the existing two-lane roadway to three lanes to help alleviate congestion through the area. Work on this capacity project began in August 2012 and was completed this week. Funding for this project consists of a combination of both federal and state funds.
