WINNSBORO, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Twenty-year-old Sharmeka Moffitt of Winnsboro remains in critical condition Tuesday in the Regional Burn Center at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport.
Also the Franklin Parish Sheriff's department has advised that evidence from the victim's car, which was found with racial slurs written on it has been moved to a crime lab. State Police tell KNOE the actual car has been returned to the family.
Sharmeka's mother, Edna Moffitt, expressed appreciation for the interest and prayers of well-wishers from around the region, but did not wish to release further details of her medical care today. She did say Sharmeka has opened her eyes and blinked to communicate with the family.
