MINDEN, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The substance that exploded at Camp Minden in Webster Parish this week has been identified.

The Louisiana National Guard says the substance was a "smokeless black powder" that does not pose any threat outside of Camp Minden.

Monday's blast shook homes and businesses throughout Webster Parish, caused broken windows and could be heard as far away as Monroe.

Police and other hazardous materials investigators are still looking into the cause of the explosion, which took place in an underground bunker.
