Domestic violence case gets some closure

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Finally some closure this week for the victim in a case that the district attorney is calling, the worst domestic violence case in recent memory.

The DA told us this case looked like it was straight from a horror movie, and after looking at the pictures, it's hard to disagree.

DA Jerry Jones says, "it's beyond my description, I can't describe it to you."

Jones is talking about the wounds Ester Freeman suffered from in attack by Allen Robinson.

He says, "Ester was burned with an iron and that and that's starting in the late afternoon and went on all night."

By the time Robinson was finished, "he had burned her over fifty percent of her body, he had taken a belt and wrapped it around her hand and beaten her."

Ester went for a day without medical treatment, until her friend threatened Robinson, either put Ester on the phone or she would call the police.

Ester told her friend she was okay, but she didn't buy the story.

Jones says, "he just barely cracked the door, enough for her to see the blood, and she pushed the door opened and went in, and he had forced ester to hide behind the bathroom door, and Tonya found her there."

The women made up a lie in order to get ester out of the home.

Jones says this is one case he will never be able to forget, but it's why he does his job, to help those in need.

He says, "she was helpless totally helpless, and man that is 6'3 and weights 250 pounds is no match for a 5'4" female."

Robinson was found guilty on charges of aggravated 2nd degree battery and 2nd degree kidnapping.

He'll be sentenced December 18th.
