ULM homecoming schedule

MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - University of Louisiana at Monroe Homecoming Week—Oct. 21-Oct. 27—means fun, festivities, and football. Below is the complete schedule of ULM's Homecoming events. 

The theme for Homecoming week is "Ace Wants You for America's Team"; here's the full schedule of events:

Sunday, Oct. 21:

ULM Soccer vs. Troy, which will also include Senior Day for the players, will take place at 1 p.m., at the ULM Soccer Complex. 

Volleyball vs. Florida International University will also take place at 1 p.m., in the ULM Activity Center. 

The baseball "Blood Series" begins at 2 p.m. at Warhawk Field. 

Presented by the School of Visual and Performing Arts and Friends of the Opera, the ULM Opera Gala begins at 3 p.m. in the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall. 

Monday, Oct. 22:

False Fortress, an exhibition of paintings by Rebecca Litt, will be open daily from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., in the Bry Art Gallery. 

The ULM Homecoming Court Introduction Luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the ULM Conference Center, located on the seventh floor of the ULM Library. 

John Cassidy's Magic Comedy begins at 7 p.m., in second floor Student Union ballroom.

Tuesday, Oct. 23:

Sponsored by the Wesley and the ULM BCM, a student lunch will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Quad. 

The ULM Retirees Luncheon takes place from 11:30 a.m.-1p.m. in the ULM Conference Center, located on the seventh floor of the ULM Library. 

A zip-line interactive event will be available for students to enjoy from 12-4 p.m., in Bayou Park. 

The ULM Water Ski Team will excite the community with their annual Ski Show starting at 5 p.m. on Bayou Desiard. 

The always entertaining Miss(ter) U.S.A. pageant will take place at 7 p.m., in the ULM SUB ballroom, located on the second floor of the SUB. 

The ULM Faculty Artist Concert Series will feature Dr. Mel Mobley, associate professor in the ULM Music Department, at 7:30 p.m., in the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall. 

Wednesday Oct. 24:

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., "Human Bowling" will ensure a knockout good time for students in the Quad. 

Get your ULM license plate and "Style Your Ride With Warhawk Pride!" The event will take place in ULM's Warhawk Circle, located at the end of Bayou Drive. 

"Hawk Talk" with ULM head football coach Todd Berry begins at noon in the SUB. 

The Business Symposium Quiz Bowl will be held from 4-6 p.m. in the SUB. 

Sponsored by Recreational Services, the University Mile will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Hemphill Hall, (formerly the Airway Sciences Building). Participants may pre-register until noon, Tuesday, Oct. 23. Late registration is from 4:30 - 5:15 p.m., on the day of run. 

At 6:30 p.m., the opening session of the Business Symposium will be held in the SUB. 

"The Dark Knight Rises" will be shown at 8 p.m., in Fant Ewing Coliseum for ULM student movie night. 

Thursday, Oct. 25:

Business Symposium events continue from 8 a.m.-7:30 p.m. in the SUB ballroom. 

From 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., the student Pumpkin Carving Contest will be held in the Quad. 

The student lunch social takes place from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Quad. 

The Quarterback Luncheon will be held at noon, in the Anna Gray Noe Alumni Center. Lunch is $10 per guest. 

The third annual Costume Ball will be held from 9 p.m.-1 a.m. in Brown Gym. 

Friday, Oct. 26:

Spirit Day will be held from 9-11:30 a.m. in Scott Plaza. 

At 1 p.m., the Homecoming Golf Tournament will be held at Pine Hills Country Club in Calhoun. 

The College of Pharmacy 10-Year Reunion will be held at 6 p.m. at ULM's College of Pharmacy, located at 1800 Bienville Drive, in Monroe.

At 6 p.m., the baseball "Blood Series" continues at Warhawk Field.

The College of Pharmacy will also hold their Boo-N-Bop Halloween Dance at 7 p.m., at 1800 Bienville Drive, in Monroe. 

The ULM Homecoming Parade will roll through campus beginning at 8 p.m., and featuring events through 11:30 p.m., including a pep rally in The Grove, and the NPHC/NPC/IFC "Unity Step Show." The parade starts at Brown Auditorium, and ends at Fant-Ewing Coliseum. 

Saturday, Oct. 27 - Game Day:

Game day tailgating in The Grove begins at 9 a.m. 

Student tailgating also begins at 9 a.m. 

The Alumni Association Brunch & Awards Ceremony takes place at 10 a.m., in the University Conference Center located on the seventh floor of the ULM Library. 

The ULM Alumni softball game begins at 11 a.m. at the ULM Softball Complex.

Also beginning at 11 a.m., the Women's Basketball Reunion Game will take place in Fant Ewing Coliseum. 

"Style Your Ride With Warhawk Pride!" returns from 12-5 p.m. behind the Golf House on Bon Aire Drive. 

The College of Health Sciences tailgate begins at noon, in front of the Golf House on Bon Aire Drive. 

The College of Pharmacy super tailgate also begins at noon, in The Grove. 

The baseball "Blood Series" culminates at noon, at Warhawk Field. 

Homecoming week culminates with the ULM Homecoming football game where the ULM Warhawks take on South Alabama at 6 p.m., in Malone Stadium.

    Baton Rouge, La. (KNOE 8 News ATC) - Agents with the Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control recently conducted compliance checks at 173 businesses in the Monroe and West Monroe areas. During those compliance checks, 28 of the businesses, which consist of area restaurants, bars and convenience stores, were caught selling alcohol and tobacco products to minors.
