MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The number of people in Louisiana filing jobless claims is up. The Louisiana Workforce Commission said the new numbers account for the unemployment insurance claims the state received last week.
More than 3,000 new former workers are asking for financial help. However, there may be a sign of good news ahead. The commission said last month had the lowest monthly claims filed since November 2008.
