MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News/AP) - The West Nile Virus strikes again.
Louisiana health officials said there are nine new cases to report and one new death. Five of those are the most severe form of the illness.
That brings the total to 12 deaths this year and more than 300 cases.
The Department of Health and Hospitals report shows no new cases were reported in our area. All nine new victims of the mosquito borne illness are living in south Louisiana.
