Arkansas mayor charged with contempt, then released

STAR CITY, Ark., (KNOE 8 News) - The mayor of Gould has been released from jail after a judge ordered he be held in contempt for allegedly locking the town's recorder and treasurer out of her office.
Earnest Nash was released from jail just one day after Circuit Judge Rob Wyatt Jr. found him in contempt of court. The judge told Nash to turn over keys so the Gould recorder/treasurer could have access to her office.
It's being reported that the judge held Nash in contempt because the set of keys provided to Recorder/Treasurer Pam Barley-Gibson only fit the office's main door and not a storage area where documents are kept.
Nash's attorney, Hank Bates, calls the issue a miscommunication and says he's working with Barley-Gibson to get a key to the storage area.
