MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Faculty members from the University of Louisiana at Monroe's College of Business presented research, received awards, and assumed new leadership roles at the 38th Annual Association of Small Business and Entrepreneurship Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Paul Dunn, retired distinguished professor of entrepreneurship, won the Best Paper Award for his paper, "Entrepreneurial Learning and Business Assessment: What New Decisions Would be Made after Learning?" Dunn co-authored the paper with Kathleen Liang from the University of Vermont. Dunn recently retired from ULM after serving more than 40 years as a professor of entrepreneurship and director of the ULM Small Business Development Center.
Dr. Laurie Babin, ULM professor of marketing, was named president-elect of the association, while Dr. Eugenie Goodwin, an adjunct professor of finance and entrepreneurship, and counselor with the ULM Small Business Development Center, was elected vice president of programs and treasurer for the association. Dr. Henry Cole, professor of marketing, and faculty chair of the ULM marketing program, was elected vice president of membership.
In addition, Deborah Golemon, assistant professor of business at ULM, presented research and was recognized for her participation as track chair for the conference. Dr. Melissa Melancon, assistant professor of finance, also attended and presented a research paper.
