HOUMA, La., (KNOE 8 News) - ARKLAMISS residents heading south to the Houma area may run into traffic problems in the weeks ahead.
The Houma Navigation Canal Bridge will close from each Friday at 7 p.m. until the following Monday at 5 a.m.through November 19.
The closures are scheduled so crews can build a new bridge operator station, along with other parts of a $9.9 million state project to rehabilitate the swing bridge.
In addition to the weekend closures, the bridge will be closed daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct.15 to 19.
