MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A Monroe business is continuing its yearly tradition of honoring our local veterans. Vets were treated to a fish dinner Monday evening. Cormier's restaurant, on Forsythe Avenue, does what's called the "Fry For Freedom" event every October, for five years now. The owner said it's an honor being able to see faces light up when being served the food.
"They've done a lot for us. You know, wars and all that different stuff and it's still going on," Jamie Cormier said. "And hopefully we're doing a good thing for them. They enjoy it, I know that."
A key player in the fish fry crew died a while back but the team said they'll continue doing this every year in honor of the vets and their former crew member.
