Gas price downward trend continues

MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Louisianians saw the average price of a gallon of gas drop another 2.1¢ per gallon during the past week, bringing us to $3.54 a gallon.

Nationally, that price rose against last week, up half a penny to $3.80 a gallon.

In California, however some gas stations are moving the higher octanes at just under $6 a gallon, causing the state to implement its winter gasoline mixtures in an effort to stop the bleeding. Gasbuddy Analyst Patrick DeHaan is predicting the West Coasters will actually see some relief as the week wears on.

Nationally, due to some extent to the California problem, gas is averaging 1.3¢ a gallon less than a month ago, but are still much higher than they were a year ago. Here in Louisiana, we are up 37¢ a gallon since last year and down 1.3¢ from last month's prices.
