Pet blessing at St. Francis Medical Center

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - St. Francis Medical Center blesses pets to celebrate the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi.

Father James of St. Francis blessed pets of all shapes and sizes in the Anna Gray Noe Park across from the hospital. Although the majority is the pets were dogs, a Guinea pig was also blessed.

St. Francis of Assisi is the Patron saint of animals, and Father James says we should treat our furry friends as equals.
