For the week ending on September 29, 2012, insurance claims fell by about 500. The latest numbers released Friday, October 5, show only about 2,800 people are asking for financial help in the Bayou State after being out of work.
This comes at the same time the federal jobless rate, for the month of September is down to roughly 7.8%.
The state of Louisiana, as of the month of August, has an unemployment rate of 7.4%.
