OPELOUSAS, La., (KNOE 8 News) - In Opelousas, you can now check on the web to see if any of your stolen property has been recovered.
The new website launched by the Opelousas Police Department was designed to help the rightful owners to recover their stolen property is producing results. All of the items listed on the site are those which have been recovered in the course of police investigations.
In some cases, even after the property has been recovered, police aren't able to find the items' rightful owners, but through the use of the special website, they hope to raise the number of items that eventually find their way "home".
