Locals are reacting to the campaign

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - ArkLaMiss voters are getting ready for November.

President Obama and Governor Romney are going head to head in a series of debates leading up to election day.

Political leaders in the twin cities are aiming to fire up their followers in hopes to either keeping the same leadership or making a change.

The chairman of the Monroe Democrats, Rodney McFarland, Sr says he believes the incumbent will remain in his seat for another four years.

"There's no comparison between the Republicans and the Democrats. Obama has done an excellent job his first term and he just needs another term to finish it up," McFarland said.

On the other hand, Louisiana Senator Mike Walsworth says this is a time for change, and he believes a new president will move the country to adding jobs.

"Mitt Romney can get them jobs. He can bring jobs, he knows, he's from the private sector. And before he went to being a public servant, he was in the private sector creating jobs," the senator said.

Both men agree, the number of jobs being created has to increase in the next four years and the winner should work closely on trickling down the deficit.
